Pizza is one of those things that makes it on most people’s “if I was ever stranded on an island” list of items you’d want to bring with you. And if it’s not on your list - you haven’t had the right pizza yet.
So, who makes the best pizza in Charlotte? Well, that depends. There are several great option in the Queen City, depending on what exactly you’re looking for, and how much time you have on your hands. I compiled a short list based on my personal tastes and experiences...let me know if you agree (or not).
They say size matters...

Biggest pie (or slice) you can find in Charlotte is hands down found at Benny Pennello’s (in NoDa). Hello 28 inches of goodness! In fact individual slices are so big, they cover 2 paper plates. Benny’s is especially awesome if you’re low on budget, since 1 slice will satisfy you for the next 6 hours - that $5 makes for a great investment. So, next time you’re hungry at 2:30 am on a Friday, try Benny’s.

For a more of a “fancy” pizza experience, I’d head to Pizzeria Omaggio. It is located at the Metropolitan (a few doors down from Zoe’s). Their menu is impressive - including amazing salad options to go with your pizza, and their service is impeccable! Ever heard of Nutella pizza? You have now, and guess who makes it.
They don’t stay open late though, so you gotta make it there by 9 pm.

If you consider yourself a “picky” pizza-eater, who likes to customize their orders by every ingredient, then Blaze Pizza (SouthEnd) is your happy place. Blaze is basically ‘Chipotle’, but for pizza. It never disappoints - you can choose from their suggested options, or make your own from scratch. The best part is that whatever ingredient you might want - they probably have it.

Fun fact on Blaze: the average time it takes to order and receive your pizza - 6-8 minutes, so if you’re in a hurry...you know where to go.
